Woodscape Design and Construction

  • Through the initial forest inventory process, a forest stewardship plan is developed that documents the woodlot's current condition and assets, thus providing the framework for the landowner's long-term forest management goals for the property.  Documenting the forest components for access, forest composition, forest stand structure, timber quality, soils,  topography, recreational opportunities and wildlife habitat presents options for enhancing the long-term value of the forest.

Using the forest stewardship plan as a quide, Hudson Forestry creates a woodscape design to accomplish the goals of the forest landowner. The objective for Hudson Forestry is to minimize the disturbance to the environment through the use of low impact specialized farm equipment and recognized "good forestry" practices.  Emphasis during woodland operations is given to soil and water conservation, timber production, wildlife habitat enhancement, recreation and aesthetics.
